Don’t worry about a thing Cuz I haven’t since I’ve gotten here tonight This is the relief and the rejuvenation Even with responsibilities, I’ll take it easy The energy is rushing Our problems are fading Whoa Whoa oh, oh Whoa Whoa oh, oh I will lead the way I will lead the way The stars have risen now I’m all packed and I’m ready to go I know I’m bound to meet many of you by the end of the night I will show you how and I'll show you the way Don’t Worry Don’t stress We’ll have a great time A great day and night This weekend is ours So don’t let it slip away

What can be seen in the boy who never grew up? A star that never shines, somehow they flock to him. (A picture we perceive) The picture we perceive The fake that you receive Missing what you should breathe It’s hard enough to watch her fall like him It’s even harder to watch friends go He used to play our tune and He used to sing our song I hate to see him go But I will never live up to Mr. Perfect. Remember past years, and remember past days Like when we walked to the parade It was just us guys, even I would say we were fly No one could make fun of this. A friend I never lost Sure enough he dropped. True friends never stoped Just us guys movin’ up. Sticks and stones will still break bones But memories don’t heal like broken bones. (And I know they’ll never…) Take it or leave it It’s all about how you perceive it Drama kings and Drama queens Will get you through like human beings Save yourself or save me now It only matters who is still here. (Who is still here now?)
3.
You asked me to Remember you By the way that you looked at me I knew right then that we would meet again If it was meant to be It could just be us as a human race But I can’t help remember that familiar face I’ll never know what could have or should have been All I know is there’s a lady in the red dress You asked me to Remember you By the way that you looked at me I knew right then, we’d meet again If it was meant to be Don’t wait too long I’m often wrong In uncertain certainties.
4.
There should be no more pretending tonight The night was ending with no one speaking out With blue eyes like mine, Stressed with a simple design. You shine on me, like you shy away Maybe it’s best that I stay away It could just be us as a human race But I can’t help remember that familiar face I’ll never know what could of or should of been All I know is there’s a lady in the red dress. I should stay on with the right charm and charisma Pity is my right but not my goal Allowing this night to continue is a lot for me to bear Just make it right, make it right Only for you
5.
The sun is rising upon us The sky has turned to brightness Your skin lights up along with your face I haven’t seen it for a while Just give me a time and place With eyes like an Angel You light up this place With hair like a princess Baby, let your hair down Shine like perfection Even in a small town I’ve fallen for a fairytale Wish this place was more like home The serenade of night Is here downtown for us tonight Imagine all your friends Imagine another one of me There in my arms Among the best of all

Vilo Supreme 04:23
You’re just that type of girl You’ve got a way with words Not as a love or lust I’ve fallen for you in a way I can’t explain But sure I’ll try my best It was much like the first day, That was kind of like today though the ignorance was getting to me I crave the attention first But not too much, you’ve got to keep me on my toes. But girl when you’re so tired That you can barely sleep Just relax a little Just stop and breathe When life gets to you You don’t look for love. When the shadows drop upon you You’re never stressing out. But deep inside, I’m sure you’re hurtin’ Just let me be that cure Let me be that cure. I’m not looking for love Just fight whats insecure. I know that you’re a soldier In this world among All the obstacles that are trying to bring you down You don’t laugh You don’t cry But you write it deep among All the things you’re reminded of But girl when you’re so tired That you can barely sleep Just relax a little Just stop and breathe This lack of sleep just tears you apart These Saturday nights are so needed. Just focus on me and I can let you know How to fight the obstacles you find And try to bring you down Will there ever be a break, it’s all we’re wishing for I’m not looking for love, just to fight whats insecure.

“I already can’t wait to go back.” That’s what I said two years ago And I wrote a song and played it a million times to make it sound just the way I wanted. Even though no one knew it They bowed their heads And sang to it the best they could You reassure me that everything’s alright the problems are gone. Inspire me now or forever hold your peace You reassure me that it’s alright. Without stress, we’ll be kings and queens and a better place to love You’ll reassure me that it sounded alright (You rescue me) That’s the song I sang And I called it “Rescue”

Rescue 04:54
After a couple years and all of the fears Of ever meeting someone new. I couldn’t put my hand on it Classmates were just the start of it If my friends knew you, then I did too Acquaintances is all you were Take me there, Take me away To Utopia, a place that’s like heaven on earth My arms have opened just a little wider I’m holding you a little tighter Boys and girls wake me up from this mess on planet earth You rescue me, you rescue me Just help me to rescue you too. No more heartache and no more sadness Just let it out, and feel alive again. Doesn’t matter if the sun won’t shine, only matters if you are alive this time. So take me away, take me away Another night is all I need. Cuz you woke me up from feeling nervous Smiles took over all our sadness And we would sing to their songs We chilled out and did it all again Nothing mattered And our hearts expanded Everyone deserves it, I have felt it Everyone needs love, love, love Don’t you ever forget me I promise not to forget you My good feelings will be sent to you Cuz you rescue me, you rescue me and I will rescue you Too…
9.
While this was supposed to be the best one The shadows seemed too long struck I figured sometime soon you’d be alone and through the month of June, it bothered me But, oh what a phase Oh what a phase. Let me tell you, Sweetheart I’d expect you’d be first With the way he was treating you A play on words beyond a simple segment If you’ve got a problem with me being me then maybe we aren’t meant to be. Buddy, you know how she felt But I’m sure as hell, I could say that I did too Even when friendships start to fade All’s your break did was make it worse
10.
The world turns around, as it does, day in and out. Lovers begin and closely end in a bitter hallway. The strength of one is more than me feeling diseased and shot down It’s like I flew faster than the earth Higher than the sun and Brighter than the moon But a full moon is rough And that She-wolf’s got swagger And hell yeah, she’s tough. Is that enough? Three bright days of October bantered a saddened youth. Explain these patterns in terms of emotions, preferring our youth. And it won’t never come back, so enjoy this train before it goes too fast. I hope I understand from a number I roll For those I satisfy And those who want to die What’s a guy to do? What’s this pack to cover? Have you found your lover? Is that enough? Learning how to love? Learning how to say What we’ve kept hidden away.
11.
I’m a frequent man of conversation To those I can relate to If you listen to me Then I will listen to you. I’m an overexcited showoff For things only I care about You are an over exaggerated Yell at me No one should be alone The company is needed for more than me I love to talk to someone who will talk back I don’t wanna fall in love that way Just need more than a friend So, accompany me! Look me in the eyes Cuz it’s the only thing that gets me to look back at you I’m the strangest boy who Sounds like a woman to you Maybe we’ll get coffee Or end the friendship there Close your eyes And don’t look back on life The terrible has passed The talkative has come We don’t need to be in love To talk things through So won’t you talk things through? With me?
12.
Your friends Wanted to enjoy their time With the time that it takes It’s so short Seems just like a visit, even in the dark winter chill You’ve managed to get outside your home But time’s still short for us So make the best of it and Try to stay a little longer And it won’t take long, unless you want it to Only a moment here, means a while there Why don’t you spend the night with your friends? Cuz it won’t take long unless you want it to. We can all lose track of time so forever doesn’t feel so short. So enjoy your time tonight and today before you strike out and leave home. We always wanted to hang out with the guys, but never seem to have time We’ll have plenty of time, but then we’ll run out of time So try, oh how we try to make the best of it So make the best of it And try to move without age
13.
Share with me your feelings Because I'd really like to know I wanna do something Just not sure yet, So Baby Let's Talk Even since Allie Came and Passed You’re in Hollywood now Making a life in meeting stars But I'm not gonna lie that I’m a hell of a guy And Now That I've got class That Little English Job With Windows I'd punch out I’m losing myself since I lost him A shot at love, has lost me since I couldn't bother her when she cried Shake me up for the only girl I've kissed And I need her back Or I just need someone else…
14.
Take a breath, It’s all you need Proceed to feed, On all the greed Take your time and stay with me Break the line, that’s all you see Save yourself, it’s yours to be Free. Free. With open eyes, all you see is every act of misery Something to torture me Get off of me, Get off of me. This awful work station. Is this your plea? My Mental Radiation. Combine the truth, between the booth. Bias eyes of preferred youth Seek the same pathetic note Twice the liar gets a vote Ecstatic minds in dying minds Expect the worst, but take the best You told her to be louder And that just made her into the bitch she is
15.
This could be a sign A message from God A warning from Grace The setting of the sun The love I had won Was the one I had lost In this game of life Well I couldn’t take my chances ‘Cuz my chances were set I couldn’t make my mind up ‘Cuz you did that too The Sun will set The leaves will fall On you too The message you send Was obvious enough But you sure can’t keep away from me It’s way too tough With the inspiration of your friends Which I still see is true and it will never tie their ends And I’m chasing Needle after numbers Waiting for the answer cuz I’m fortune telling And I’m leaving everything early Wonder what I’m doing with my life. And I’m feeling terribly different Time is moving faster cuz every day is the same. And it’s seeming terribly useless The stranger you imagined is in the reality of the scene.
16.
Are you gonna live a rhetorical life? Do you want anyone to know your name? You need to rise up above Instead of hide behind a disguise Are they gonna answer your call? Are they gonna know your name? Who are all these people and where do I fit in? It doesn’t matter to me I’ll stand on my own Learning to live independently it’s a basic part of me that I will show off I will get rid of my disguise and I’ll show the true me. The hours are running shorter The days are growing ever thinner Into euphoria ever-last, that begins now I separate my troubles and put them off Until I have no more to put off No one’s got your name and I wanna hear it Let your guard down You don’t have to fear it You’ve got to get your disguise off The world won’t stand if you just hide.
17.
Can we just spend Autumn in Love? So I can learn to fall for you again…. The leaves all change And so do we. I only wished for your arms over mine Laughing as I held you in leaves Summer flings end So we can bend back to shape If everything that you promised is all but the truth Then you’d better watch what you say. On off chance it’s not, Then prove to me today That your love was faith Can we just spend Autumn in love So I can learn to fall for you again As you have moved on Far and beyond leaving me far behind Only in hindsight will I see you soon At least I will see you again. It’s easy to say I miss you It’s harder to show you If you could just be here A kiss and a hug could just remind you That I haven’t left Though social life said that’s not true It was me and you and could be again So just come here today And you tell me when At least I will see you again.
18.
As I woke up this morning I promised myself more than I could handle But didn’t worry none over all All that I’m thankful for Spends her night somewhere else And I’m left to find a trust and ignore thoughts in my head What is there to be thankful for when she spends tonight somewhere else? And my mind isn’t allowed to wander. Maybe what I’m thankful for Will be here for Christmas next year. I doubt it. Somehow I don’t think this gets to her very well Maybe I haven’t been the best boy after all But she never listened so why bother? My words aren’t strong enough to win, And I’m supposed to just be okay. So, Here we are, we made it to the ending, Left with a few words that couldn’t stumble into another verse "I assume she doesn’t have a choice, or maybe just won’t bother with a choice This time should be thankful, or so they say.” Now, the past me would’ve known what that meant. At this point, most of the words expired These were all just the distant past It would be a shame to just let them disappear in a notebook, right? It’s just art, that’s why we do this, right? It’s just art. Young Jaybird told the story and it came full circle, but now it comes to a close Right as it starts to get cold again We find the last lines in the poem: “This time should be thankful, but I can’t be thankful for a broken heart.”

about

The first release from Jason Maska is a collection of acoustic songs written between 2008 and 2010 that were never recorded until 2021-2023. Following the release of the debut Mischief in Stereo album, Maska decided to revisit an early set of songs and give them the light of day by formally recording them. They’ve seen minimal music and lyrical editing to maintain their original form. The series of singer-songwriter tunes sound nostalgic, emo, uplifting, sentimental, inspirational, and conflicted as the acoustic genre bends slightly towards country and folk.

After completing the initial 10 tracks, the songbook was revisited to ensure there weren’t any tracks left. Sure enough - more were found. This set the stage for an opportunity to find some help to complete the project.

On the deluxe version, 15 guests add their vocal and musical contribution that add flare and detail to the tracks that were otherwise never imagined. The release features eight additional tracks and a brand new mix and master. “Lady in the Red Dress” now has a companion introduction track titled “Megan’s tune,” written by Megan Hozick. “Roll a Die” is extended, featuring additional vocals and an original verse by Sunflower Summit. More tracks feature pedal steel guitar and violin as well.
